Trump freezes customs duties for a month on Mexico .. This is expected

Mexico President Claudia Shinbom announced the freezing of American customs duties on Mexican commodities for a month, and deployed 10,000 Mexican soldiers on the border between the two countries.
This came after a contact with the US President today, Monday, as Trump confirmed the freezing of customs duties on Mexican goods for a month until negotiations were held between the two countries, hours before they started their implementation.

“Mexico will enhance its northern borders with ten thousand members of the National Guard immediately to stop drug trafficking from Mexico, especially Ventanil,” Shinbom said, in a post on X.
“The United States is committed to working to stop the smuggling of high -strength weapons to Mexico,” she added.
Xinbom said that the two countries will continue talks on security and trade, noting that “customs duties have been overlooked for a month as of now.”

Talks between America and Mexico

Trump described the conversation on social media as “very friendly”, and said he was looking forward to the upcoming talks.
Trump said the talks will be headed by foreign ministers Marco Rubio, the treasury Scott Payette, and the Trading Howard Lottenic and high -ranking representatives from Mexico.
“I look forward to participating in these negotiations, with President Shinbom, and we are trying to reach an agreement between the two countries,” the US President added.

America and Canada

Trump said earlier on social media that he had spoke Monday morning with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and will talk to him again at 3 pm local time.
Earlier, Canada and Mexico announced that they would impose their own customs duties in response to the fees that Trump decided to impose on the goods received from the two countries.
