Sharjah International Athletics Forum for the Disabled continues its competitions

Sharjah, February 3/ WAM/ The second day of the 13th edition of the Sharjah International Athletics Forum for the Disabled, which is organized by Al -Thiqa Club for the Disabled in Sharjah and concludes tomorrow, in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and excitement in the stadiums of Al -Thiqa Club for the Disabled.
He attended one of the competitions today, Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi, head of the office of His Highness Al -Hakim in the Emirate of Sharjah, Sheikh Muhammad bin Saqr Al Qasimi, and a number of officials in government departments in Sharjah. The competitions included exceptional international participation from the players who won distinguished results.
The competitions in the championship witnessed the achievement of distinguished results by the players of the Emirati clubs, as the Dubai Club player for the owners of determination, Mohamed Othman, won the gold medal in the competition of 100 meters, animated chairs T34, and Yahya Al -Balushi from Al -Thiqa Club for the Disabled the Gold Medal in the running competitions 100 meters T46/47 And Abdullah Al -Marzouqi won the same club in the first place in the competition of 100 meters, animated chairs T71/72, and Al -Thiqa Club player, Farhan Iqbal, won the gold medal in the 800 -meter T36/46 competition, while many participating players from various state clubs won advanced positions In the rest of the competitions.
While a number of participating players from other countries starred in several competitions, such as the Saudi player Nour Al -Saa, who won the gold medal in the 100 -meter competition, the Saudi player Abdul Rahman Al -Qurashi, who won the gold medal in 100 meters of mobile chairs, and the Tunisian player Walid Bouteleh who won On the gold medal in the 800 -meter animated chairs competition.
Youssef Mohamed Al -Doubi, director of the tournament, stressed the importance of societal activities that Al -Thiqa Club offers to the disabled, which believes that sport is an ideal way to enable people with disabilities, noting that community activities also play a major role in highlighting the capabilities of people with creative disabilities in various fields, such as handicrafts and art.
He added that organizing these societal activities in addition to sports competition contributes to spreading awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities, and reflects the commitment of the Emirate of Sharjah to provide a comprehensive environment for all groups of society, stressing the pride of the Emirate of Sharjah to continue to present this global sporting event, which has become a major station in the world champions.
The forum guarantees a set of societal activities organized by the trust club for the disabled, to highlight the creations of people with disabilities in multiple fields, and to provide them with a platform to display their skills in a comprehensive and inspiring environment.
The events included for free of the Emirati folk cuisine and the display of a group of handicrafts produced by people with disabilities, such as hand -made furniture and artistic embroideries that show their high skills.
A memorial board was devoted to writing a word of thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for his continuous support for the trust club for the disabled and affiliated with him and all those with disabilities, which reflects the commitment of the rational leadership to provide an appropriate environment for them.
