The Ministry of Health has launched a new advanced stage in describing and dispensing narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances under electronic control, and completely dispensing with the paper prescription, through a national platform for prescription, drainage and control over narcotic drugs, mental effects subject to control. This comes within the framework of digital transformation within the health transformation program, Where the platform works to govern the proper description and drainage of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in all “private and governmental” health facilities at the Kingdom level.

Through this electronic system, it is possible to monitor and follow up on narcotic drugs, mental effects, which are subject to control in a manner that increases the pharmaceutical safety of its users, and the beneficiary of these electronic recipes can access them electronically, and download them through the “Sahiti” application in PDF format; This leads to strengthening supervisory coordination in health facilities at the country level.

The electronic prescription of narcotic drugs, mental effects subject to control is characterized by enabling health practitioners to see the history of medical prescriptions for narcotic drugs, mental effects and subject to control and all their data, in addition to the description and exchange between different facilities, and also allows tracking the disbursement of this type of medicine through the licensed pharmacies to be disbursed to them , Whether governmental, community, or private, and electronic linking between all health facilities in order to achieve integration in a unified health application.

The shift from the paper system to a unified electronic system comes within the efforts of the Ministry of Health towards the digital transformation under the framework of the health transformation program, in order to contribute to achieving the targets of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision, and improving the quality of health services at the Kingdom level.
