“Dubai Health” stresses the importance of global partnerships in supporting medical education and developing the health sector

The Dubai Health Board of Directors held a meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Health Board of Directors, and President of Mohammed bin Rashid University for Medicine and Health Sciences, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice -Chairman of the Dubai Health Board of Directors, Where the meeting reviewed the most prominent projects implemented by “Dubai Health Global levels, by enhancing healthy lifestyles, developing health and preventive services.
The Council stressed the importance of global partnerships in supporting medical education and developing the health sector. During the meeting, the 10 -year anniversary of the successful academic partnership was celebrated with the University of Queens Belfast, which was established between the Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences and the British Belfast in 2015, with the aim of developing The university and its faculty of medicine, and meet the local and regional requirements in the fields of education, training and high -quality medical research.
The meeting was held at the headquarters of Mohammed bin Rashid University for Medicine and Health Sciences, in the presence of members of the Board of Directors: Dr. Raja Issa Al -Gurg, Abdullah Abdul Rahman Al -Shaibani, Professor Ian Andrew Jerry, Walid Saeed Al -Awadi, Muhammad Hassan Al -Shehhi, and Dr. Amer Sharif, Executive Director of Dubai Health, and Dr. Alawi Sheikh Ali, a representative of the Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum welcomed the members of the Board of Directors of “Dubai Health” and praised the efforts made to develop the health sector, and to enhance the leadership of the Emirate of Dubai regionally and globally in health care in line with the targets of Dubai Social Agency 33.

For her part, Dr. Raja Al -Gurg, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid University Council for Medicine and Health Sciences and member of the Dubai Health Board of Directors said: “Today’s celebration of the 10th anniversary of the academic partnership with Queens Belfast University reflects Dubai Health’s commitment to achieving the highest standards of excellence in medical education and scientific research. This partnership has contributed to enhancing the capabilities of our medical cadres in various specialties, which was reflected in the quality of health services provided to patients. For his part, Dr. Alawi Sheikh Ali, Executive Director of Academic Affairs in Dubai Healthy and Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences said: “Dubai Health has succeeded within 10 years of partnership with Queens University in adopting a number of undergraduate programs in medicine and surgery, and sending batches of students In the various medical specialties of study and training. It also contributed to the establishment of Hind Bint Maktoum College for Nursing and Camels with new standards, in addition to cooperation in publishing many research and scientific publications, and the development of the Biomedical Medical Research Center at the university.

To celebrate the successful partnership between the two universities, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed honored Professor Ian Andrew Jerler, a member of the Dubai Health Board of Directors and Director of the British University of Queens in Belfast, in appreciation of his efforts in strengthening the partnership between the two universities, wishing the university more success and excellence.
