Emirates University hosts the first bilateral conference with Italy on advanced materials

Al Ain on February 4/ WAM/ The United Arab Emirates University hosted the first bilateral conference between the UAE and Italy, entitled “The Advanced Articles of the twenty -first century” during the period from 3 to 4 February 2025.
This prominent scientific event was held in cooperation with the Italian University of Sassari, to be the first bilateral conference between the two countries in the field of advanced materials and their applications, and it is planned to be held periodically every two years alternating between the UAE and Italy.
This came in the presence of His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to His Highness the President of the State, Supreme President of the United Arab Emirates, along with a group of experts and specialists.
His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh stressed in his speech that the conference represents a prominent station in the march of scientific cooperation between the UAE and Italy, noting that innovation in the field of advanced materials opens unlimited horizons for developing technical solutions that contribute to facing global challenges, such as climate change, renewable energy and health care.
His Excellency said: “This event is not just a scientific gathering, but rather a platform for building bridges of cooperation and exchanging ideas, and strengthening sustainable partnerships between researchers from both countries, expressing his aspiration for the conference to become a tradition that is held every two years between the two parties, to consolidate joint research cooperation and push the wheel of progress Scientific globally. ”
The conference witnessed the participation of 24 prominent speakers from the Emirates, Italy and Germany representing a group of prestigious universities and research institutions, including Emirates University, New York University in Abu Dhabi, Khalifa University, American University in Sharjah, Italian universities such as Sassari University, Milan University and Badova University, in addition to the University of ” The German Von Humoult “, the number of attendees reached more than 120 participants per day.
The President of the Conference, Professor Yasser Grish from the Department of Chemistry at the Emirates University, in his speech, welcomed the participants and attendees, and presented the keynote speech to Professor Giulio Serolo of the University of Politnik Milan on the first day, and Professor Stefan Wutkek, a visiting professor at the Emirates University, on the second day.
The six scientific sessions focused on multiple topics that include innovations in the field of energy, environmental technologies, biomedical progress, visual systems, electrical and magnetic applications, and exploration of two -dimensional materials.
A discussion session was also held on research cooperation between the two countries, in which a group of experts participated, and a scientific publishing session presented by Dr. Neville Compton, Editor -in -Chief of the International Publishing House “Waili”.
On the sidelines of the conference, two scientific posters were organized with the participation of more than 40 graduate students, as they were allowed to present their research to international experts and discuss them to enhance their scientific experiences.
This conference reflects the commitment of the Emirates University to enhance innovation and scientific research, and its pioneering role in supporting international partnerships that contribute to the progress of research and development.
