"Rockhole Racing" The Dane leads the first day of the final "Seale JP" In Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 29 November / WAM / The Danish team, Rokul Racing, topped the competition on the first day of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Sailing Grand Prix – the closing round of the 2025 Sail GP season – organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council at Mina Zayed, opposite the waterfront of the Abu Dhabi Corniche, with the participation of 12 international teams aboard high-performance F50 sailing boats, whose speeds exceed 100 kilometers per hour.

The Danish team, led by Nikolai Seested, includes Olympic champions, speed record holders and explorers who have traveled around the world, making the crew very experienced and determined to leave a mark in the 2025 season. The Swiss team came in second place, while the Brazilian Mubadala team came in third place.

For the first time, all teams used the new wing with a height of 27.5 metres, along with special fins and light wind scoops, to take advantage of the light winds, which range in speed between 7-10 km/h, and even the most experienced crews faced difficulties in light of the crowding on one of the narrowest tracks of the SEAL GB Championships.

Tomorrow, Abu Dhabi is preparing to announce the Seal GB champion for the 2025 season, and the season will witness a struggle between four teams close in number of points: the Emirates Team from Britain with 85 points led by Sir Ben Ainslie, the New Zealand Black Foils team with 82 points led by the duo Peter Burling and Blair Tuck, the Australian Flying Ross team with 80 points led by Tom Slingsby, and finally the Spanish team Los Galos with 76 points led by the duo Diego Botín and Florian. Trittle.

The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Grand Prix awards 10 points to the first place winner, 9 points to the second place, 8 points to the third place, and 7 points to the fourth place, which decides the title of the fifth season, and gives the winning team a financial prize worth $2 million US dollars.

Abu Dhabi represents the twelfth and final stop in the fifth season of SellGB, which included stops in Dubai, Auckland, Sydney, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Portsmouth, Sassnitz, Saint-Tropez, Geneva and Cadiz.

All 12 teams will return to the water tomorrow to compete in two or three additional qualifying races – depending on the circumstances – before the winner of the event is crowned and the overall standings for the season are calculated, with the best three teams qualifying for the decisive final race, and the races begin tomorrow, Sunday, November 30, at 2:00 pm Gulf time.

The total prize pool is $3.2 million for this week, with $800,000 for the winners of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Sailing Race round (divided among the top three finishers), $400,000 for the team with the highest season points, and $2 million for the winner of the decisive final race to determine the season champion.
