Etihad Rail Cargo Services Company, a subsidiary of Etihad Rail, continues its operations to ship goods on a regular and continuous basis across the national railway network in the UAE, ensuring the continuity of trade movement throughout the country and enhancing the flexibility of national supply chains.
Over the past nine days alone, Etihad Trains has operated more than 100 freight train trips, transporting more than 459,000 tons of freight and more than 7,900 containers across the national network.
The network continues to provide reliable connectivity between major industrial areas, ports, and logistics centers. To support the flexibility of the network, additional corridors were operated on the railway network, with multimodal capacity redirected towards the ports of the East Coast, Al Ghail Dry Port station, with support from the operation of five additional train trips to enhance the efficiency and continuity of goods transport movement. Operations are proceeding in accordance with approved safety and operating protocols, while the company continues to coordinate with the relevant authorities and follow developments in the region.
Since the launch of freight train operations, the national railway network has formed a pivotal pillar in the UAE’s transportation system and logistical infrastructure, as it provides companies with a reliable, safe and sustainable means of transportation that contributes to enhancing the efficiency and flexibility of supply chains.
