"British Transport" It allows airlines to combine flights to save fuel

London, May 3, 2017 – The British Department of Transport announced that it will allow airlines to combine passengers from different flights together on smaller aircraft as part of plans to save aviation fuel.
The temporary rule change will allow airlines to consolidate flights on routes where there are multiple flights to the same destination on the same day.
The Ministry of Transport explained that this means the possibility of transferring passengers from the flight they had originally booked to a similar flight to reduce the amount of fuel wasted from flying planes whose seats have not been fully sold and may have been cancelled.
