المملكة: Hajj season…the completion of the readiness of the municipal system in Mecca and the holy sites


Announced Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, represented by the The Holy Capital has completed its operational and service preparations for the Hajj season 1447 AH, through an integrated municipal system aimed at enhancing public safety and health, and raising the efficiency of field response in various vital locations.

The Ministry explained that its preparations included harnessing more than 22,000 field personnel and more than 3,000 machines and equipment, in addition to emergency teams working around the clock, shelter halls, and fixed and mobile laboratories. In support of Field work during the season.

The Ministry carried out extensive works in preparing roads and infrastructure, which included an internal road network exceeding 73 million square metres, supported by 123 bridges and 44 pedestrian and vehicle tunnels, in addition to preparing lighting networks and raising the readiness of municipal elements related to the smooth flow of movement and the safety of the pilgrims.

Increasing the efficiency of services

The Ministry also enhanced the readiness of the holy sites in Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah through a prepared infrastructure extending over an area of ​​4.6 million square meters, and including 20 bridges and 18 tunnels, which supports the movement of crowds and increases the efficiency of services in high-density locations.

In the hygiene, environmental sanitation, and food safety sector, the Ministry intensified its work through a cleaning system that includes more than 88,000 cleaning units, 113 ground warehouses, and 1,235 pressure units, in addition to more than 13,000 cleaning personnel, 403 environmental sanitation personnel, and 380 subsistence and food safety monitors.

The Ministry supports food safety work through 5 advanced laboratories, with a rate of examining one sample every minute, and a capacity of up to 1,300 samples per day, while observers carry out more than 2,800 monitoring visits daily, to ensure the safety of food and commercial services provided to the pilgrims.

The Ministry also supported its field services through 66 service centers, including 28 centers inside the Holy Sites, which function as field operations rooms that contribute to the speed of response and raising the efficiency of dealing with reports and observations.

With regard to municipal reports, the system deals via a platform "My country" With more than 29 thousand reports, with an average response speed of no more than 1 minute and 13 seconds per report, which enhances the ability of field teams to monitor the needs of vital sites and deal with them efficiently.

These preparations come within an integrated operational plan that the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has harnessed through its system to serve the guests of God, enhance municipal readiness, and raise the efficiency of field performance during the Hajj season.
