Arrest of participants in a meeting of the banned Muslim Brotherhood group in Aqaba

The Jordanian Ministry of Interior announced on Sunday that an illegal organizational activity was carried out in the city of Aqaba by the banned Muslim Brotherhood, as a result of which its participants were arrested.

The Ministry of Interior explained that the activity consisted of holding a meeting commissioned by people who had advanced positions in the banned group, noting that work is underway to track down these people and enforce the law against them.

The Ministry stressed that the group is prohibited and that it is not permissible under any circumstances to hold any activity or event within its scope, stressing that anyone proven to be involved in violating the law will be prosecuted.

The Ministry also clarified that political work is available through parties that carry out their tasks legally and licensed, and without that, any movement aimed at violating or bypassing the law will not be tolerated.
