2.7 million passengers entered Dubai within two months

The Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Airports, Majid Al-Joker, said in a special statement to Emirates Al-Youm that the movement of passengers arriving at Dubai International Airport reached 2.7 million passengers during the past two months, coinciding with the period of regional unrest that imposed major restrictions on the capacity of airspace and flight schedules, indicating that these numbers represent significant growth rates compared to the scale of the challenges in that period.
Al-Joker explained that Dubai airports handled more than 6 million passengers during the period from March 2 to April 30.
He added that the traffic numbers for the first quarter of this year, which amounted to about 18.6 million passengers, reflect the operational strength and flexibility of operations at Dubai airports, pointing out that 88,000 air movements were recorded during this period.
He stated that 51 airlines currently operate at Dubai International Airport, operating flights to 192 destinations around the world.
Al-Joker pointed out that strong movement was recorded in the markets of South Asia, Western Europe, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and East Asia.
He expected that with the announcement of lifting restrictions on airspace, traffic will gradually return, in conjunction with a global demand for travel and tourism, stressing that transit passengers will play a pivotal role in the next stage in supporting the growth of passenger traffic.
