Mansour bin Zayed: The unification of the armed forces formed a fundamental pillar in building our modern state

Abu Dhabi, 5 May / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Office, affirmed that the unification of the armed forces constituted a fundamental pillar in building our modern state, and a stepping stone towards consolidating an integrated defense system, based on efficiency, discipline and readiness, based on the vision of our wise leadership and its belief that the strength of the nation lies in its cohesion and the unity of its institutions.

His Highness added, in a speech on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the unification of the armed forces, that the fiftieth anniversary of the unification of our armed forces is the historical moment in which unity of will and solidity of decision were embodied, and in which ranks were united in defense of the homeland and preservation of its gains.

Below is the text of His Highness’s speech on this occasion:

“Brother officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers in our valiant armed forces

May the peace, blessings, and mercy of God be upon you,

We celebrate with you today an anniversary dear to our hearts, and an immortal national occasion in the journey of our state, which is the fiftieth anniversary of the unification of our armed forces, that historical moment in which unity of will and solidity of decision were embodied, and in which ranks were united in defense of the homeland and preservation of its gains.

The unification of the armed forces constituted a fundamental pillar in building our modern state, and a stepping stone towards consolidating an integrated defense system, based on efficiency, discipline and readiness, based on the vision of our wise leadership and its belief that the strength of the nation lies in its cohesion and the unity of its institutions.

Our brave soldiers,

On this precious national anniversary, we salute in you the spirit of loyalty and belonging, and we are proud of the advanced levels of readiness and efficiency achieved, which reflect the professionalism of our armed forces and their ability to perform their tasks efficiently and competently, in various circumstances and challenges.

You have proven, through your journey, that you are the nation’s impregnable shield and impenetrable fence, and that you are up to the trust and responsibility to protect its gains and preserve its security and stability, inspired by the values ​​of generosity and benevolence instilled by the founding leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him.

In conclusion, I extend my highest congratulations and blessings to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and to his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and to their brothers Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council of the Federation and Rulers of the Emirates, may God protect them, and to the people of the Emirates, on this glorious national occasion, asking God to bring it back to our homeland with more blessings.
