Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed: The anniversary of the unification of the armed forces is a turning point that embodies 50 years of building the union’s strength and preserving its gains.

Abu Dhabi, 5 May / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Development Affairs and Families of Martyrs, confirmed that the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the unification of the Armed Forces embodies a pivotal national milestone, through which we proudly recall the journey of five decades of giving and achievement in defending the sovereignty of the Union State and preserving its gains.

His Highness said: “May 6, 1976 will remain a milestone in the history of the Emirates, as it embodied the vision of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and his fellow founding leaders in uniting ranks and strengthening the foundations of the union. This historic decision contributed to building professional armed forces with a solid doctrine, which today enjoy high efficiency and readiness that has proven its capabilities in defending the homeland and maintaining its security and stability.

His Highness extended his deepest congratulations and blessings to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” and his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” and their brothers, Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, Chief of the Presidential Court, and officers and members of the Armed Forces.

His Highness added that the coincidence of the golden jubilee of the unification of our armed forces with the heroic epic undertaken by the protectors of the homeland in defending the homeland against Iranian terrorist attacks, is the best proof of the efficiency and professionalism of our armed forces in repelling the aggression.

Moh said: “On this anniversary, we proudly recall the sacrifices of our heroes who gave their lives in defense of the homeland, and we renew our pledge that their sacrifices will remain a beacon that motivates us to continue the construction process so that our homeland remains prosperous and strong.”
