The spread of the Hantavirus does not resemble the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told AFP on Wednesday that he “does not believe” that the situation resulting from a Hantavirus outbreak on a cruise ship resembles the beginnings of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In response to a question from Agence France-Presse in Geneva about the level of danger of this outbreak, which is believed to have appeared on a cruise ship in the Atlantic Ocean, Tedros said, “I do not think” that it is similar to the beginnings of the Covid-19 pandemic, adding, “At the present time, the risk to the rest of the world is low.”
