Abu Dhabi is considering establishing an advanced regional center in the packaging sector in Kizad

ABU DHABI, 6th May / WAM / 2Point Zero Group today signed a memorandum of understanding with ISEM Packaging (“ISEM”), the Italian company specialized in manufacturing packaging solutions, and Kizad Group, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, to study establishing a regional facility for manufacturing packaging solutions in Abu Dhabi.
The memorandum of understanding was signed during the “Make in the Emirates” platform activities at the ADNEC Center in Abu Dhabi, reflecting the harmony of the proposed project with the industrial strategy of the United Arab Emirates and the framework of the National Value Added Program, which is supervised by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology.
Under the MoU, the party companies will collaborate to define the operational, regulatory and technical requirements for establishing a new packaging solutions manufacturing facility within Kizad.
The facility is scheduled to be developed in accordance with European standards, to produce high-quality packaging solutions targeting the perfumes, cosmetics, gifts and sweets sectors in the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

“KIZAD” is considered the main option to host the proposed facility, provided that the next steps will be determined during the coming period. “KIZAD” is expected to form the regional manufacturing center for the ISEM Group to serve the markets of the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The ISEM Group is headquartered in the Italian city of Tricate, and is considered one of the most prominent European companies specialized in manufacturing packaging solutions. It provides its services to a number of the most prominent international brands in the luxury products, beauty and confectionery sectors, according to internationally recognized quality standards. Its client list includes LVMH, Kiko, Gucci, L’Oréal, Puig and Coty Lancaster. The proposed facility in Abu Dhabi is expected to contribute to the transfer of the European ISEM operating model to the Gulf region for the first time, allowing for reduced supply times and providing local manufacturing solutions to customers in the region.

It is worth noting that the memorandum of understanding is non-binding, and reflects the parties’ intention to move forward with studying this opportunity through subsequent final agreements, after obtaining the required approvals and adopting “KIZAD” as the final location for the project.
