The National Archives and Library organizes an exhibition of historical photos at Zayed International Airport

Abu Dhabi, 7 May / WAM / The National Archives and the National Library organized an exhibition of historical photographs at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, to celebrate the golden jubilee of the anniversary of the unification of the UAE Armed Forces, in a national station that recalls the process of military construction and consolidates the meanings of security and stability on which the state was founded.

The exhibition embodies the wise vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul,” who realized early on that there is no renaissance without security, and no development without stability, so he worked to establish unified armed forces capable of protecting the Union’s gains and preserving its achievements.

The exhibition highlights the extension of this vision in the approach of the wise leadership, which continued the process of development and modernization, to consolidate the position of the armed forces as a fortified shield for the nation.

Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi was chosen as the headquarters for this national event, so that travelers from various countries of the world could see the bright pages of the history of the Emirates, and the efforts of its leaders who spared no effort in building a modern army that combines military competence and humanitarian commitment, and reflects the image of a country that seeks peace and respects the values ​​of international cooperation.

The exhibition brings to mind the historical importance of May 6, 1976, which constituted a milestone in the Union’s journey, when the armed forces were unified under one flag, in a strategic decision that strengthened the unity of ranks and established the Union’s choice as an irreversible approach. This decision represented a profound turning point, as it established a national army capable of confronting challenges, protecting sovereignty, and contributing to maintaining security.

The pictures highlight the amount of attention the leadership has given to building the armed forces according to modern scientific foundations, by providing the latest armament and training systems, establishing military colleges and institutes, and preparing qualified national cadres capable of keeping pace with modern developments.

The exhibition reflects the prominent humanitarian role of the armed forces, which went beyond their military duties to contribute to international relief and peacekeeping efforts, affirming the UAE’s commitment to the principles of human cooperation and solidarity.
