Backgammon Federation organizes "Talent Championship" In cooperation with the Ministry of Sports
Dubai, May 7, WAM / The Emirates Table Tennis Federation announced the organization of the first edition of the Table Tennis Talent Championship 2026, in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports, on May 10, at the Maliha Cultural and Sports Club hall.
The tournament targets age groups from 11 to 15 years for boys and girls, with participation open to clubs and individual players, as part of the federation’s drive to discover promising talents and expand the base of game practitioners.
The Federation confirmed that registration in the tournament will be free for beginners and professionals, with medals and appreciation prizes allocated to the winners, in addition to providing the opportunity for distinguished people to join national development programs.
Rashid Abdul Hamid, member of the Board of Directors of the UAE Table Tennis Federation and director of the national teams, said that the tournament comes within the federation’s strategy aimed at discovering the talents in the country and working to develop and refine them for the future.
He added that the federation is keen to strengthen the base of the game in the younger stages, and give young players the opportunity to interact and compete, in a way that supports plans to prepare national teams in the coming years.
