“Parkin” is experimenting with smart technologies to monitor parking violations in Dubai and reduce the role of field inspection

Parkin Company revealed the start of testing a new smart monitoring system that relies on cameras mounted on the roofs of smart monitoring vehicles, in a step aimed at enhancing the efficiency of monitoring parking violations in the most crowded areas of the Emirate of Dubai, and reducing the need for field monitoring on foot.

The company explained that the new system was initially implemented last February on one inspection vehicle, as part of its drive to develop more flexible and effective technical solutions in managing inspections and smart monitoring of parking lots.

The company confirmed in its operational and financial results report announced yesterday, Wednesday, that the new technology is expected to be more effective during the summer months, especially with rising temperatures, which will contribute to improving the efficiency of operational performance and increasing the speed of response and control in various regions of the emirate.

The system features advanced cameras capable of carrying out monitoring and follow-up operations while the vehicle is in motion, allowing wider coverage of vital and crowded areas, and alleviating the need for inspectors to descend repeatedly during field tours.

She indicated that the field control teams scanned 10.2 million vehicle plates during the first quarter of 2026, an increase of 115% compared to the same period of the previous year (4.7 million plates), and the fleet of smart inspection vehicles carried out a survey of 20.6 million vehicle plates, an increase of 64% compared to the first quarter of 2025 (12.5 million plates).

She pointed out that the total number of violations issued by “Parkin” increased by 33% on an annual basis, reaching 754 thousand violations in the first quarter of 2026, compared to 569 thousand violations in the same period in 2025, while public vehicle parking violations constituted 75% of the total violations in the first quarter of 2026 (562 thousand violations), compared to 477 thousand violations in the same period of the year. 2025.
