"Mthayil" You reap "Silver sword" in "The final jump"
Abu Dhabi, 19 May / WAM / The mount “Mthayel” was crowned with the slogan of Ahmed Matar Majid Al Khaili with the silver sword for the final of Al Wathba 2026, within the annual final festival of camel racing, which is currently being held in Al Wathba Square in its 47th edition, with the participation of thousands of mounts from the camels of Their Highnesses the Sheikhs, the people of the state and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Today’s events witnessed a strong competition for the production category symbols in the adult challenges, with races of yearlings, local camels and crossbreeds, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, President of the Camel Racing Federation.
“Mthayel” excelled and won the Silver Saif for Al-Hawl Local Production Company, in the first main round, and defeated all of its competitors, recording 12:16:36 minutes, to present its owner with the title and win 2.5 million dirhams.
“Al Nashmi” won by Bakhit Rashid Saif Al Shamsi, the second symbol of the production category, after he was crowned with the Al Zamoul Local Production Rifle, and his financial prize was one and a half million dirhams, as he won the round with a time of 12:43:73 minutes.
The third round competitions for the production hybrids resulted in “Taghareed” by Saeed Manana Ghadeer Al Ketbi winning the symbol of the race, which is a dagger, in addition to the financial prize of 2.5 million dirhams, with the best time and finishing the half in 12:18:38 minutes.
“Aneed”, owned by Mansour Faisal Al-Ajab Al-Shahwani, finished with the production symbols, and was crowned with Shaddad Al-Zamul Al-Mahjanat in the fourth round, to present its owner with the precious symbol, in addition to 1.5 million dirhams, as he succeeded in recording a time of 12:29:92 minutes.
The morning period witnessed the establishment of 18 rounds for the Hawl and Zamoul for the group camels, for a distance of 8 km, and “Nasiya”, owned by Mubarak Abdullah Misfer bin Safran Al-Jahish, snatched the title of the first round for the local Hawl with a time of 12:35:97 minutes, and “Saturn” by Muhammad Ali bin Halis Al-Afari achieved the title of the second half for the Hawl and the Muhjanat, recording the “best time” of 12:28:80. Minutes, “Sarab” by Hamad Humaid Sultan Al Falasi won the title of the third round for the local team, with a time of 12:54:67 minutes, and the title of the fourth half went to “Al Fayez” by Ahmed Sultan Bel Rasheed Al Suwaidi, with a time of 12:44:28 minutes.
Tomorrow, the grand prize competitions for the “Golden Sword” with a prize of 5 million dirhams will be held in the group’s camel competitions, with 14 rounds for the hawl and the camel, including 10 rounds in the morning period, and 4 in the evening period for the symbols, and it opens with the local hawl round.
