"Emirates Medicine": The national health insurance system enhances the readiness and sustainability of the health sector

Dubai, May 19 / WAM / His Excellency Saeed bin Mubarak Al Hajri, Minister of State, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Medicines Corporation, confirmed that the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, to launch an integrated national health insurance system, reflect an advanced national approach based on enabling a more efficient and sustainable health structure, to enhance the quality of services and ensure ease of access to them, in keeping with the aspirations and needs of society.

His Excellency said that these directives represent a strategic step towards raising the capabilities of the health sector and expanding the scope of preventive care, which contributes to improving the level of service performance and ensuring comprehensive coverage for all citizens in the various emirates of the country.

He explained that the UAE continues to consolidate its global position in developing an advanced health environment by adopting innovation and modern technologies, which enhances the sector’s flexibility and ability to adapt to changes, improves the efficiency of health services, and contributes to raising the quality of life and the sustainability of community development.

For her part, Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Al Kaabi, Director General of the Emirates Medicines Corporation, confirmed that the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, to adopt an integrated national health insurance system, embody the vision of the wise leadership to make human health an established national priority in the comprehensive and sustainable development process of the UAE.

She said: The adoption of this system represents an important strategic step towards building a more efficient and flexible health system, noting that integration between health and regulatory authorities at the federal and local levels constitutes an essential foundation for translating the goals of the health model into practical reality, through optimal use of resources, sustainability of services, improving citizens’ experience, and enhancing the state’s ability to respond to future health challenges.

She concluded by saying that the Emirates Pharmaceutical Corporation is proud to be part of this ambitious national path, and is committed to supporting this national vision by enhancing drug security and ensuring the quality and effectiveness of medical and pharmaceutical products, which contributes to building a healthier and more prosperous future for future generations.
