A Bahraini delegation discusses food security and halal trade in Thailand

During a visit to the Halal Science Center at Cho Lalongkron University in Thailand, a Bahraini businessmen delegation discussed enhancing cooperation in the fields of business, industry, halal economic development, trade and food security between Thailand, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in addition to consolidating relations between entrepreneurs and expanding opportunities for commercial cooperation.

The Bahraini delegation was headed by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Thailand, Khalil Al-Khayyat, and the Chairman of the Food Committee at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Khalid Al-Amin, while the delegation was welcomed by the Director of the Halal Science Center at Chulalongkor University, Dr. Pornpimol Mohammed, in the presence of the Thai Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Sumit Chulagata, during which the visit exchanged information and explored opportunities for cooperation in the fields of science, technology and halal innovation in Thailand.

The center director, Dr. Pornbimol Muhammad, along with Deputy Director Dr. Anat Dinyinghut, and the team of researchers at the Halal Science Center at Chulalongkorn University, gave a presentation on the center’s tasks and services in laboratory analysis, in addition to the applications of science in consumer protection in accordance with Islamic principles.

During a field tour, the delegation was briefed on the Halal Forensic Sciences Laboratory, which is one of the most prominent laboratories specialized in analyzing Halal products in Thailand using the latest advanced scientific technologies.

The visit represented another important step towards enhancing cooperation in the areas of economic development, trade and raising halal standards.

The discussions highlighted opportunities to develop halal logistics management and enhance scientific innovation applications to ensure product safety and reliability, which will contribute to consolidating cooperation networks in the fields of trade, investment and food security between Thailand and the Kingdom of Bahrain in the future.
