President Sisi stresses the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation between Egypt and Bangladesh

 President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Prime Minister of the Interim Transitional Government of Bangladesh, on the sidelines of the G8 Developing Countries Summit for Economic Cooperation held in the New Administrative Capital.

The official spokesman for the Presidency stated Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy said that President Sisi expressed Egypt’s deep appreciation for the historical relations between Egypt and Bangladesh, stressing the importance of continuing to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially in the fields of Economic and investment, in addition to scientific and cultural cooperation, and President Sisi pointed to the vital role played by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in this context.

 

For his part, the head of the interim transitional government in Bangladesh stressed According to what President Sisi said about the importance of developing bilateral relations, adding that Al-Azhar Al-Sharif has a special place in the conscience of the people of Bangladesh, in addition to its established role in confronting extremist rhetoric. Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy indicated that during the meeting, regional developments were reviewed, especially in the Gaza Strip, Lebanon and Syria, and the Egyptian efforts made to restore security and stability and preserve the capabilities of the peoples, as In this context, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh expressed his appreciation for the fundamental role played by Egypt as an essential element in achieving stability in the Middle East region and in defense of the issues of the Islamic nation and developing countries, stressing his country’s desire to enhance cooperation.
