Agha: Guinea’s preparation for the Handball World Cup was not sufficient, and the best is coming against Hungary and Macedonia

Tunisian Ibrahim Agha, coach of the Guinea men’s handball team, confirmed that qualifying for the World Championship in itself is an achievement, but this achievement had to be followed by greater seriousness from the Guinean Handball Federation, so that the achievements would continue and so on.

Al-Agha continued: " In order for the team to move from one stage to a higher level, the preparation must be strong, and the preparation of the Guinean team for the World Championship took only three days, and this is certainly not enough to prepare for the World Championship, neither physically nor tactically.”

He continued &nbsp&nbsp ;:"Over the past periods, we have become accustomed to the performance of the Guinean national team improving from one match to another, as happened in the African Championship, because the preparations with the Guinean national team always do not rise to the level of the event in terms of Duration of time and friendly matches.”

Ibrahim Agha stressed that the first half of the Netherlands’ first match against the Guinean national team in the World Cup, which ended with a score of 8/21, was an experience for the players, and that as a technical director he expected this before the match, because it is Such strong matches are supposed to be preceded by mental, physical and tactical preparation with strong contact against teams at a distinguished international level, as all the players of the Guinean national team did not even compete in local tournaments, whether in France. Or in Guinea with world-famous elite players, they were surprised in their first match in the World Championship that they were playing against players they saw on television and encouraged and saw in an excellent manner. From my experience as a player and then as a coach, this is a difficult experience if the player goes through it without being mentally prepared in a good way to be able to. Whoever engages in it.

The Agha said: " Praise be to God, this difficult experience for the players did not take more than one half in the World Championship, which was the first half during the match against the Netherlands, and following a session with the players at halftime, during which we provided some guidance that had a significant impact on the mental and technical levels and was behind the team’s outstanding performance. The Guinean team in the second half, in which we emerged defeated by only 5 goals, which is an achievement against a large and strong team with experience in international participation.

The coach of the Guinean national team concluded :" In the upcoming matches against the Hungarian national team and the Macedonian national team, we will try to build on what we achieved in the second half in the Netherlands match, and to present a distinguished level that shows the Guinean national team in a good way worthy of its representation of African handball.
