Abu Dhabi Cultural Summit explores the impact of artificial intelligence on culture and humanity

Abu Dhabi, April 29/ WAM/ The seventh edition of the Cultural Summit Abu Dhabi 2025, which concluded its activities today and organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, witnessed a full program of sessions, discussion episodes, workshops, creative conversations, and status studies.
This version, which was held under the slogan “Culture for Humanity and after”, collected more than 200 speakers and witnessed the convening of more than 100 sessions and more than 300 participants, and the presence of more than 3700 people from more than 90 countries across six continents, with the aim of exploring the relationship between culture in its comprehensive and human concept, existence and values in an era that witnesses many rapid transformations and changes.
During its first day, the summit explored the radical transformations in the balance of power in today’s world, from the digital revolution to global variables, and how these transformations restore the formation of the cultural scene.
She focused on the slogan “reshaping the cultural scene”, by highlighting the role of the culture and creativity sector in helping humanity to pass the unknown to embrace tomorrow with confidence.
On the second day of the summit, the focus was on the slogan “the new borders of the human environment and post -” and the participants highlighted how to adapt culture and creativity systems to its policies and models to fully benefit from the capabilities offered by techniques such as artificial intelligence and biotechnology.
His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi said in his welcome speech, during the first day of the start of the summit: “We meet today at the Cultural Summit Abu Dhabi under the slogan“ Culture for humanity and after ”, inspired by the words of the Nobel Prize -winning writer and Walli Swenca, who urged us to reconsider the role of culture in the time of technological and societal transformations unprecedented and in Abu Dhabi, represents the corner stone. For our society, not a supplementary idea. ”
He added that through strategic investments in institutions, talents and policies, we consolidate the presence of culture in all joints of life, stressing the increase in the importance of these meetings in this changing era to draw the features of a more sustainable and human future, in which culture leads the process of transformation.
His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, said in his main speech to the summit that culture is the real power in forming creativity, preserving heritage, pushing societies towards a future full of innovation and hope and through linking our past to our present, building the strong foundations of future generations, and developing the talents and imagination necessary to achieve sustainable development and economic growth.
His Excellency added that in an era, digital innovations and artificial intelligence are reshaped, culture remains our permanent guide as it strongly contributes to turning ideas into actions and inspiring societies, and ensures that creativity remains at the heart of human progress, noting that through initiatives such as “the national policy of preserving modern architectural heritage”, the national strategy of culture and creative industries, and new platforms that support the arts, intellectual property, intellectual property, intellectual property. Among the most prominent activities held during the second day of the summit is the ministerial dialogue of “Mondiacolt 2025” organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization “UNESCO” and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
The ministers present participated in a dynamic dialogue to explore how new technologies and artificial intelligence contribute to the formation and consumption of the arts and culture production mechanism, and dealt with the impact of this on human rights and creativity.
During the dialogue, the ministers discussed many different topics, including cultural enrichment, economic opportunities that can arise through the benefit of technology, the role of artificial intelligence in protecting and preserving material and non -material heritage, and the roles that young people can play in this framework, and many others.
Culture was an essential part of the discussions, which explored how culture is to inspire the generations of the past and the present, while remaining the cornerstone of any society aspiring to the future.
The dialogue sparked major discussions on focusing on today’s youth, and remembered that they are not just consumers, but rather the makers of tomorrow’s decision, and thus preserve the vitality of cultural institutions.
His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said during the dialogue that when we launched the Cultural Summit in 2017, our ambition was to create a platform in Abu Dhabi for the entire cultural and creative cultural system and today, we are honored to witness the deepening of cooperation between the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and UNESCO, with our opening of the second ministerial dialogue at the cultural summit.
He added that the presence of the culture ministers here in Abu Dhabi today sends a strong message that culture is a vital priority for governments around the world, as they go beyond sectors and talk directly about our agendas in social, economic and human development.
He said: “Together, we can form a world in which the culture is not preserved only, but also enables it to drive as diversity is celebrated and creativity leads the sustainable development of our youth and future generations.”
Considering that the topic of “artificial intelligence” is one of the main headlines of discussions has full attention during the first and second days of the summit.
On the first day, Muhammad Jawdat, the former writer and chief executive of business at Google X, expected the tremendous challenges that artificial intelligence will impose, despite the great advantages he provides, and how artificial intelligence revolution can serve humanity in our world today.

On its second day, the summit continued the discussions of artificial intelligence, but from a multidisciplinary perspective with the participation of personalities from academic, governmental and scientific circles.
Riad Goua, architect – Architecture Network in the Middle East; Stephen King, First Lecturer, Middlesx Dubai University; Imad Al -Din Masdoua, Director of Governmental Affairs for the Middle East and Africa – Spotify and Dr. Patrick Nouak, Executive Director – Dubai Future Foundation, how artificial intelligence can enhance creativity when using it as a tool that is not an alternative, and they agreed that although artificial intelligence can enhance efficiency and innovation exceptionally, but maintaining human wisdom and originality Essential, to avoid excessive dependence on artificial intelligence and ensure that it is accelerated for creativity, and not a substitute for it.

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi hosts this summit, with the participation of a group of international partners such as UNESCO, Economist Impact, the Design Museum, Google, the Museum and Solomon RR Gongheim, and the Registration Academy.

The summit reflects the commitment of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi to preserve, protect and promote cultural heritage in Abu Dhabi, while promoting creative thought and innovation with the aim of building a more comprehensive and sustainable global cultural future.
