The conclusion of the first phase of the national program for qualifying national cadres in the field of women and girls’ rights

Dubai, July 3 / WAM / The General Women’s Union concluded the first phase of the national program for the rehabilitation of national cadres in the field of women and girls ’rights, which was carried out under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak“ Mother of the Emirates ”, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation in partnership with the Standing Committee for Human Rights and the Regional Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights for the United Nations in the Middle East and North Africa I was held at the Women’s Renaissance Association in Dubai.
The program aims to build the capabilities of community authorities and civil society institutions working in the field of women and girls’ rights in a way that contributes to the consolidation of the state’s efforts in this regard and enhancing its commitment to relevant international agreements and covenants.
The first stage included the training of more than 70 posts from national cadres on the concepts and principles of human rights and international and regional protection mechanisms, in addition to enhancing the skills of interaction with the international system and the use of data in supporting national policies related to women and girls’ rights.
This program represents one of the institutional initiatives aimed at developing national competencies and building an active human rights network in the field of human rights capable of keeping pace with legislative developments and positive interaction with international mechanisms and supporting the state’s efforts to achieve the fifth goal of sustainable development goals related to gender equality.
In its subsequent stages, the program completes the implementation of specialized training courses that include a group of applied axes that focus on actual practice and cognitive empowerment, with a part of it allocated to introduce posts to the mechanisms of the work of the international system, including the agreement to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women “CEDAW” and the comprehensive periodic review mechanism through practical applications.
It also includes advanced aspects of national capacity building such as preparing reports, using data in support of policies and analyzing legislation from a gender perspective.
While a specialized course will be implemented to prepare qualifications trainers who are able to transfer knowledge and apply the skills acquired in the fields of community work.
