Scholars thank the Grand Imam for sponsoring discussions in which legal opinions merge with scientific insights in line with contemporary issues

At the beginning of the forum, Dr. Mahmoud Siddiq, Vice President of Al-Azhar University, thanked His Eminence the Grand Imam for sponsoring the discussions in which Sharia opinions merge with modern scientific visions, in line with contemporary issues, and to prevent a clash between Sharia rulings and people’s reality, by presenting A scientific vision that is consistent with Sharia and consistent with the movement of life, and Al-Azhar, throughout its long history, produced encyclopedic scholars who combined the science of Sharia and modern science, which had a great impact in proposing solutions to control developments. In every era, and these discussions that are taking place today within Al-Azhar are confirmation of this role.

The Vice President of Al-Azhar University said, during the jurisprudence forum at Al-Azhar Mosque, that water is the vibrant spirit of life, as it is the secret of creation and the source of existence. Which God Almighty gave to man, to facilitate the process of rebuilding this universe, and whether the water is fresh or salty, it has many benefits for the movement of life in general, and we cannot imagine the existence of life without this. The liquid that God made the cause of life “And We made from water every living thing.” Modern science has proven that most of human cells are composed of water, which is why humans need water primarily. Water is mentioned in the Holy Qur’an 63 times, which indicates the greatness and value of this great blessing.     The Vice President of Al-Azhar University stated that the loss of water or the impact of its sources causes an imbalance in the ecosystem and the deterioration of life. For this reason, Dina Al-Hanif urged us to rationalize the consumption of this precious resource and preserve it in various ways, because preserving water is part of ensuring the continuation of life in general, and science. It has been proven through scientific experiments that water is a basic condition for human survival, as the percentage of water present in parts of the body contributes to maintaining the functions of the body’s organs and performing their vital role. Every cell of the human body needs water to perform its function, and wisdom meets Legitimacy with scientific facts in confirming the importance of water for the continuation of life, and that it is the main source of all components of life, and “We made from water every living thing.” For his part, Dr. Gamal Abd Rabbo, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Al-Azhar University, added The transformation of a seed into a green plant as a result of the interaction that occurs with water is one of the most wonderful natural phenomena, and represents the basis for the cycle of life on Earth as it provides food for many living organisms, and the source of this process is water, which God has made a source of nutrients. The different plants, and the difference between evergreen plants and temporary green plants, is due to the fact that these evergreen plants have the property of preserving water inside them for long periods, which helps them achieve vegetative growth, appropriate for their type.

And for his part, Dr. Odeh, Director General of Al-Azhar Mosque, said: God Almighty has blessed us with a precious treasure, which is the blessing of water. He made it the basis of life on earth, and we must preserve this blessing to sustain life. This is what draws us to look at this great blessing that God has given us, so we should not underestimate it, nor should we overuse it. Al-Azhar’s discussions on these issues come within the framework of linking the legal ruling and the scientific vision, to make it easier for people, to remind them of the true importance of these blessings, and to urge us to work. Thanking God for it, and thanking God can only be done  By preserving his blessings.
