The Occupational Safety and Health Committee organizes an educational seminar for engineers in the General Syndicate

The Occupational Safety and Health Committee of the General Syndicate of Engineers, headed by consulting engineer Alaa Rayhan, held an educational symposium for engineers, in which both consulting engineer Hisham Ali, safety consultant at the Ministry of Manpower, and consulting engineer Hosni Rabie – consultant for process safety inspection and occupational safety and health systems – lectured.< /p>
During his lecture, consulting engineer Hisham Ali shed light on national and international legislation in the field of occupational safety and health systems. The lecture included an explanation of what occupational safety and health is at the national and international levels, and the codes and laws regulating national and international occupational safety and health.
Ali elaborated. In explaining National Law No. 12 of 2003 and its fifth book on occupational safety and health, he addressed the risks of the work environment in sites, operations, and factories, including mechanical, electrical, biological, chemical, physical, and fire risks, reviewing how to identify those risks, then analyzing and evaluating those risks. Risks, then controlling those risks through the five control methods, which are removal and isolation, change, engineering control, administrative control, and the use of personal protective equipment, and then measuring the level of success in safety performance by Measurement methods.
While safety requirements in warehouses were the focus of consulting engineer Hosni Rabie’s talk during his lecture, he stressed that ensuring safety in warehouses is indispensable, especially since they include raw materials and equipment, so any losses may occur in the warehouses. It can result in serious losses, and for this reason it is necessary to ensure that safety requirements are implemented in warehouses, to protect them from many risks, such as fires, stressing that maintaining safety in warehouses does not only include the safety of the elements they contain, but also the safety of Employees.
"Rabie" reviewed Occupational safety and health instructions for warehouses that must be followed, including that they must be well ventilated, have an entry door and an escape door, clean floors, corridors and surfaces from any hazards that may cause tripping, slipping or falling, train employees on how to work safely in both environments, and construct warehouses from materials Non-flammable, provide appropriate lighting, and equip stores and warehouses with alarm and fire equipment.
