The first symptoms of stomach cancer

Stomach cancer is considered one of the most common and deadly types of cancer. According to the World Health Organization, more than one million new cases are diagnosed annually.

Dr. Muhammad Suleimanov, an oncologist, points out that stomach cancer often affects men over the age of 65 and women over the age of 70, but this does not mean at all that the disease cannot infect others at an early age – such cases are not rare.

Therefore, we must know that stomach cancer has an aggressive course, meaning that the chances of successful treatment in its advanced stages decrease, which indicates that diagnosing the disease early greatly increases the chances of recovery.

He says: “Unfortunately, the symptoms of stomach cancer may not appear for a long time, and the first signs often appear only in the advanced stages. However, in the early stages, the disease looks like gastritis or stomach ulcers, so symptoms such as discomfort after eating should not be ignored.” “Sour belching, heartburn, nausea, feeling of fullness in the stomach without overeating, loss of appetite and sudden weight loss, general weakness, and fatigue.”

According to him, if the disease is diagnosed, there is no need to panic because currently existing technologies allow recovery from it even in its advanced stages, and confidence in recovery is very important.

He says: “It is important for the patient to participate equally in the diagnosis and treatment process. It is also necessary to follow the doctor’s recommendations carefully, as well as inform him immediately of any changes in his condition because this greatly increases the chances of recovery.”

The doctor points out that the treatment of the disease depends on the stage in which it is diagnosed. For example, in the early stages, surgery can be performed due to the absence of metastases, while in the third and fourth stages, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy are used, and in some cases, hyperthermic chemotherapy can be used. To remove metastases.
