The French Ministry of Health indicated – in a statement today – that the infected case, a woman in the “Brittany” region, In northwestern France, she was diagnosed with monkeypox at the University Medical Center of Rennes, and that she is “in good condition,” according to the newspaper “Ouest France.” She added that the infected case was a woman who had not traveled to Central Africa. It is an area where different strains of the virus have been spreading for several months, but she contacted two people who recently returned from this area, and research is underway to find out the source of the infection and identify all the people who were in contact with it.
