The Ministry of Industry and Trade calls for the necessity of adhering to the requirements for licensing online sales

The Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that it is launching a comprehensive monitoring campaign to ensure that holders of commercial records who practice the activity of “selling via the Internet” (International Code 4791) comply with all requirements necessary to obtain a license.
The Ministry confirmed that this step comes within the framework of its keenness to regulate this sector and ensure the protection of the rights of consumers and merchants alike, explaining that the basic requirements that must be met by all licensed commercial registries are the following:
• Registering the online store link: All commercial registration holders must correctly enter the link of their online store in the “Online Store/Electronic Market Address” box within the Ministry’s Sijilat system.
• Providing an efficient shopping cart: The online store must include an efficiently functioning shopping cart to enable customers to add products to the shopping cart and complete the purchase process easily.
• Providing a secure payment method: The online store must have secure online payment options to ensure the protection of customers’ financial data.
• Providing clear policies: All online stores must provide clear policies for return, exchange, use, and user data protection.
• Providing a delivery service: Online stores must provide an effective delivery service for products to customers.
