Oprah Winfrey reveals the moment she changed her outlook on weight loss and cries
Last May, the famous media personality spoke about her struggle with weight loss for many years, and she said while crying that after all those years and fatigue, she discovered that she was suffering from a health problem, and that the matter was never her fault or a lack of will.
Winfrey explained when she was a guest on Jimmy Kern Lima’s podcast: About the impact of the battle she had been waging with her body for most of her life, and the moment she realized it was out of her control.
She said: “I was feeling amazing. It’s not my fault. All these years, all those diets, all those times I tried, and came back and tried again and lost weight, I was climbing the mountain and suffering and starving.”
She continued: “It’s not my fault, that was the moment and that was in 2023,” referring to the time when she knew that what she was suffering from was a health problem.
She added: “I presented hundreds of episodes about weight loss and had countless conversations about this topic, but I remained ashamed of my problem with obesity.” But her approach to the matter as an illness and not a lack of willpower changed her view of herself and the matter as a whole.
She explained: “What I understood from the matter, which I did not understand during the past 48 years of my struggle with my weight, is that there is something in the brain that allows some people like me to store fat differently from others.” (my lady)
