Specialists in education and educational administration emphasized that the problem of students’ absence before tests is one of the phenomena that require radical solutions, due to its negative impact on academic achievement and school discipline.
In their interview with Al -Youm, they explained that the reasons for this phenomenon range from poor family control to the spread of a culture of complacency in attendance, as well as excessive anxiety of tests.
They also stressed the need for families and schools to cooperate to enhance academic commitment, and proposed motivational strategies such as organizing interactive reviews, and applying discipline regulations firmly, in addition to providing psychological and educational support to help students overcome academic pressures and achieve academic stability.

She explained that this phenomenon has several reasons, among them the weakness of family control and the spread of a culture of complacency in the last days of the school year, where some students believe that these days are not of an educational benefit.
Also, excessive anxiety of tests leads some students to isolation and study at home, which enhances their absence from school.
Al -Shahrani stressed that confronting this problem requires close cooperation between families and schools, by educating parents about the importance of academic order until the last school day, and enhancing the role of educational counseling in alleviating students ’concern and motivating them to attend through interactive educational activities.

She added that the application of discipline regulations firmly, especially with regard to resolving the degrees of perseverance, will constitute a strong motivation for students to adhere to the attendance, especially since the link between attendance and the cumulative rate may contribute to raising the rate of discipline and significantly reduce absence rates.
She pointed to the importance of schools adopting modern educational strategies, such as allocating interactive reviews and educational competitions, to make the class environment more attractive and motivated for students, in addition to filling out waiting classes with useful educational activities if there is an absence of teachers, which ensures that students are investing in a fruitful manner and avoids feeling bored or The void.

She explained that the second factor, as it is the keenness of school administrations to end the procedures for monitoring grades and delivering questions long before the tests, which puts teachers in a critical position between commitment to complete the educational process or compliance with the directives of the administration.
