More than 100 new British penalties accused of Russia’s support
The sanctions package was described as the largest since the beginnings of the invasion, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that these sanctions target “the Russian military machine, entities supported in other countries and fragile supply networks that depend on them.”
Britain’s sanctions on the supporters of the Russian war
The UK decision to intensify sanctions came after London imposed sanctions on 1900 people and organization linked to the Putin government from the eruption of the conflict until January 2025.
The latest package of penalties for bodies that produce and provides supplies of equipment necessary to continue the war in other countries, including countries in Central Asia, Turkey, Thailand, India and China.
The figures listed on the sanctions list include North Korean Defense Minister No Kwang School and other generals and senior North Korean officials “involved” in the deployment of more than 11,000 North Korean soldiers to engage in the conflict.
Targeting 14 personalities
“The move today, the largest in nearly three years, while sanctions target 14 personalities, including Roman Trotsinco, who is believed to be one of the rich people of Russia,” said British Foreign Secretary David Lami.
It also targets 40 ships, within what is known as the Russian “ghost fleet”, bringing the total number of ships targeted by the sanctions to 133.
The British government said that for the first time, new powers are used to punish foreign financial institutions that support the war, including the Kermet Bank, based in Kyrgyz.
British sanctions against Russia
Britain has also announced sanctions against four Russian officials and two state -owned nuclear energy companys in Russia.
At that time, Foreign Minister David Lami explained that his country wanted to continue to pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin, with Russian Defense Secretary Pavel Faradkov among the two targets.
The British Foreign Ministry indicated that the sanctions that impose the freezing of assets and the travel ban, targeting three Russians and responded in the “Navalney 50” list of personalities accused of corruption.
