Abu Dhabi, February 25 / WAM / The Emirates Entrepreneurial Council held today its first meeting chaired by His Excellency Alia Bint Abdullah Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, and in the presence of members of the Council from representatives of the federal and local government agencies, economic development departments, councils and funds support entrepreneurship in the country.
The meeting discussed the strategic axes of the work of the council, and its priorities for the year 2025, according to the vision of “We UAE 2031”, and the meeting comes after the council was launched according to Cabinet Resolution No. (11/36 and) for the year 2024, regarding the formation of the Emirates Business Council, and the Ministry of Economy Decision No. ( 1) For the year 2025 regarding the naming of the UAE Council for Entrepreneurship, where the dependency of the Council is due to the decision to the Council of Ministers, and works to support entrepreneurship and project development Small and medium in the country.
Al Mazrouei stressed that the establishment of the Emirates Entrepreneurship Council represents a qualitative step towards strengthening the system in support of business leaders and small and medium enterprises, noting that the council will play a pivotal role in proposing policies and legislation that supports the growth of this vital sector, as well as working to launch financing programs and initiatives, and submitting Competitive incentives and features of citizens ’entrepreneurs, which contributes to their empowerment and enhancing their contribution to the economy The National, where the council will work as a unified umbrella for the work of all federal and local bodies concerned with supporting small and medium enterprises, which now constitute more than 90% of the total companies registered in the country.
She said, “The Emirates Business Entrepreneurship Council aims to enable entrepreneurs and support small, medium and innovative projects in the country, by proposing support policies and legislation and providing a stimulating environment for growth and innovation, and our efforts will focus in the coming period to activate the national business leadership strategy that puts in its priorities to support pioneers Citizen business and providing competitive incentives for them, as we are keen to enhance coordination between local authorities in various The emirates of the state to ensure the integration of efforts and the effectiveness of initiatives that support entrepreneurship, while working to facilitate the business environment and develop awareness programs that encourage young people to enter this field and refine their skills, and provide opportunities to expand in the local and international markets, in a way that contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of national projects. The council is concerned, according to the decision to form it, to propose and review policies and legislation that help in building an business environment that supports innovation, as well as introduces initiatives and programs aimed at providing financing solutions for business leaders and innovative projects, with a focus on supporting citizens of citizens, and the Council seeks to provide incentives and benefits to entrepreneurs In the country, in coordination with the concerned authorities, in addition to supervising awareness programs that encourage citizens to establish their projects and develop Their skills in this field, as well as providing opportunities for entrepreneurs and helping them in marketing their products in new markets, as well as creating a comprehensive database for the entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprises at the state level, which contributes to enhancing the growth and competitiveness of this vital sector.
The first meeting of the Council witnessed a review of the national business leadership strategy, which aims to develop a supportive environment for entrepreneurship and enhance the competitiveness of emerging and innovative national projects, in addition to coordination between local authorities in the various emirates of the state, to ensure the integration of efforts when launching initiatives supporting the entrepreneurship sector, and discussing accreditation A unified definition of small and medium enterprises, reviewing and updating their current classifications, to ensure policy and standards unit Government, and to ensure that it accompanies regional and global economic developments.
