German domestic product decreased by 0.3 % during the second quarter

Wiesbaden on August 22/ WAM/ The Federal Statistical Office announced today, Friday, in Wiesbaden, that the German GDP decreased during the second quarter by 0.3 % compared to the first quarter, while the office had initially expected a contraction by 0.1 % during the period from April to June 2025.

According to preliminary data for the office, Germany recorded a deficit in the public budget during the first half of this year by 1.3 % of the gross economic product, which represents the value of 28.9 billion euros during the first six months of this year, while the state deficit decreased significantly by 19.4 billion euros from last year.

According to the latest data issued by the office, the German economy recorded a slight growth during the first quarter this year by 0.3 %.
