The success of the first corneal transplant in Al -Qassim

A medical team in Al -Qassim Health Rally succeeded in conducting the first corneal transplant in the region, as part of a joint cooperation between the health gathering in Al -Qassim and King Khalid Specialist Hospital for Eye in Riyadh. Al -Qassim gathered explained that the operation was conducted for a patient in King Fahd Specialist Hospital in Buraidah, where she was suffering from a cornea of ​​the cornea in her left eye as a result of previous inflammation, which led to severe weak vision, and after a series of fine tests, which included filming The topography of the eye to assess its suitability for agriculture, the medical team decided to perform the operation.

The assembly added that the medical team after reviewing the examinations that showed the patient’s suitability for agriculture, which took the operation that took an hour and a half, during which a complete cornea was implanted for the patient’s eye, and the process – thanks to God – was successful with success and the patient now in the phase of recovery under the exact medical follow -up to ensure the achievement of the best results.
