Argentina .. 16 people and dozens of missing people were killed by floods
On Sunday, the authorities announced the killing of at least 16 people and the loss of dozens of others in the coastal city of Bahia Blanca in Argentina due to sudden and violent floods caused by a storm that struck the country on Friday.
President Javier Milli Al -Haddad announced three days, and the presidency said in a statement, “All sectors of the national government will continue to devote their forces (…) to help the victims at this painful moment for all Argentines.”
The mayor of the city, Federico Sospelis, said that the floods caused an estimated damage of about 370 million euros.

Local authorities have also received more than 100 alerts from missing persons after the storm that struck the city that includes one of the main ports in Argentina, located 600 km south of Buenos Aires.
Two girls disappeared after the sudden flood water washed away within seconds, a tragedy that shocked Argentina.
And the city has witnessed harsh climatic events. At the end of 2023, a violent storm accompanied by heavy rains and winds of up to 150 km/hour led to thirteen people when the ceiling of a sports club collapsed.
