For the third day, the fire continues as a result of the huge explosion in the port of Iran

The firefighters continue on Monday for the third day in a row, trying to put out the huge fire that swept the largest port in Iran in the wake of the huge explosion that occurred on Saturday at the place, killing at least 40 people.
Heavy black smoke is still escalating over stacked containers in the port of the martyr Rajai, according to clips broadcast on official television on the air on Monday morning.
TV reported that after controlling the fire, “we will enter the site cleaning and evaluate the damage.”

The explosion of Iran’s port

The explosion, which was heard by dozens of kilometers away, took place on Saturday, about the back (8,30 GMT) on the sidewalk of the martyr Rajai port, where 85% of Iranian goods pass.
The port, which is located on the Strait of Hormuz, where one -fifth of global oil production crosses part of the Greater Bandar Abbas region, which is inhabited by about 650,000 people. The region also includes a major base for the Iranian navy.
The explosion killed at least 40 people and wounded more than a thousand others, according to the last toll from the authorities.

The cause of the explosion was not determined immediately, but the Customs Authority reported that it was likely that it was caused by a fire that broke out in a storage facility for dangerous materials and chemicals.
Iranian President Mohammad Boukhskian went to the hospitals of Bandar Abbas, adjacent to the wounded, and called on the Ministry of Health to stay in their homes “until further notice”, and a blood donation was made to the injured.
