Korea exports of food and agricultural products record a new record
On April 5 / WAM / The South Korean Ministry of Agriculture said that the country’s exports of agricultural products and foodstuffs increased by 7.9% on an annual basis in the first quarter of this year, to reach a record level in light of the increasing popularity of Korean culture.
She stated that exports of agricultural and food commodities amounted to $ 3.18 billion in the period from January to March, from $ 2.95 billion in the same period of the previous year, pointing out that this is the highest number recorded in the first quarter of any year. According to the type, rapidly prepared pasta exports increased by 27.3% during the period to 343.9 million dollars, and snack sales increased by 5.5% to 174.1 million dollars, while drinks exports increased by 4.5% to 156.8 million dollars.
The data showed that South Korean cigarette sales increased by 14.5% year year to 261 million dollars, while exports of sauce products jumped by 9.1% to $ 101 million. Agricultural machinery, agricultural chemicals and other relevant substances increased by 2.3% on an annual basis to 704.1 million dollars during the mentioned period.
According to the destination, Korean food exports to the United States increased by 21.7% to 487 million dollars, while its exports to the European Union and Britain increased by 34.1% to 222 million dollars. Exports to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries recorded a growth of 37.9% to 81 million dollars.
