The activities of the Egyptian French Forum for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which will be held over the course of April 7 and 8, coincided with the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Cairo, in the presence of the high -level Egyptian and French sides, under the auspices of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Mr. Philip Batisit, the French Minister of Higher Education, and the participation of a wide elite of Egyptian and French universities Higher and scientific research from both countries, up to about 400 participants from more than 100 Egyptian and French institutions.

Dr. Hossam Othman emphasized that the national strategy for higher education and scientific research aims to develop the higher education system in Egypt to keep pace with local and global challenges, and enhances the quality of the educational process and scientific research, and links education outcomes and the needs of the labor market.

The Deputy Minister for Innovation and Scientific Research Affairs reviewed the seven basic principles of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research: (Integration, overlapping specializations, communication, effective participation, sustainability, international reference, innovation and entrepreneurship), stressing the importance of this forum in promoting the principle of international reference and encouraging student and academic exchange with global higher education institutions, joining international research networks And joint cooperation programs.

Within the framework of the principle of sustainability, he pointed to the need to diversify the sources of financing higher education through government support, the private sector, donations and partnerships, in addition to improving the efficiency of spending within educational institutions, as well as highlighting the importance of effective participation, and their role in enhancing the independence of universities while ensuring transparency, and modernizing administrative and financial systems in higher education institutions.

He also touched on supporting innovation and entrepreneurship by enhancing the role of business incubators and innovation centers within universities, and encouraging students to transform their ideas into development projects, stressing the importance of integrating the sustainable development goals in educational and research plans.
