المملكة: Two million adulterated goods were seized and 182 suspicions of covering and defamation of 22 violators

The Ministry of Commerce revealed the most prominent results of its efforts in combating commercial fraud and commercial cover -up during the first quarter of the year 2025, as part of its periodic publication of the consumer sector.
The numbers showed the implementation of intense inspection campaigns and strict measures against violators in various regions of the Kingdom, with the aim of protecting consumers and ensuring the integrity of the market.
Regarding the fight against commercial fraud, the ministry indicated that it carried out 126,479 inspection visits targeting five major commercial activities.
These visits resulted in the seizure of huge quantities of adulterated goods and products, amounting to 2,006,054 commodities and product.

72 cases of commercial fraud were referred to the Public Prosecution to take regular measures, and the Ministry defamed 12 violators, final judicial rulings were issued that included imposing financial fines, closing their facilities, confiscating and destroying adulterated products, and publishing rulings in the newspapers at their expense.
On the anti -commercial cover -up side, the Ministry received 1,379 reports of Tsar’s suspicions, and its supervisory teams implemented more than 6,500 inspection visits that included 6,859 institutions and 1,484 companies.
These visits focused on a number of targeted commercial activities, including the trademarks trade, accessories, ready -made clothes and bags, in addition to restaurants and catering activities.
As a result of these efforts, 182 cases of suspicion of commercial cover -up, and the monitoring of 152 violations of the market rules, and the Ministry referred 141 violations to the committee to consider violations of the control system to take the necessary action.
The ministry indicated that one of the most prominent violating practices that was monitored during the visits is to violate the work and residence regulations and not to provide official bills for the facility.
The ministry confirmed that it had defamed 10 other violators, which were proven to commit the crime of commercial cover -up, and they have been issued final judicial rulings that included tight penalties that included prison, and financial fines that reached 2.8 million Saudi riyals, in addition to closing the violating facilities, liquidating their activities and canceling their licenses and commercial records, while completing the dues of Zakat, fees and taxes.
The rulings also included the removal of the “non -Saudis” cover -up from the Kingdom and preventing them from returning to work in it, and spreading the rulings at the expense of the convicts to deter others.
