The Gulf Cup Federation begins its field visits to the second edition of the Champions League

Doha, on August 3 / WAM / A delegation from the Arab Gulf Cup Football Association visited the Iraqi city of Zakho, to see the equipment of Zakho Club, the representative of Iraq in the second edition of the Gulf Champions League 2025-2026, scheduled during the period from September 16, 2025, to April 14, 2026, with the participation of 8 clubs.
The tournament is held and the Al Ain Club is represented under the umbrella of the Gulf Federation, with 7 other clubs that were nominated by the member national federations, which are the Bahraini sports jacket, the Saudi youth, Zakho Al -Iraqi, Al -Nahda Al -Omani, Al -Rayyan Al -Qatari, Taramin Al -Yamani, and Kuwaiti Qadisiyah.
The delegation is headed by Jassem Al -Rumaihi, the Secretary -General of the Federation, where he stressed the importance of this visit in following up the technical and organizational equipment made by the club, to ensure full readiness to keep pace with the requirements of participation in the Gulf championship.
The scheduled visit for two days includes field tours within the club’s facilities and the Zakho International Stadium, and holding meetings with the club management and the competent authorities, to discuss organizational preparations, evaluate the infrastructure readiness, and organize matches and hosting.
Al -Rumaihi stressed that the participation of Iraqi clubs is one of the fundamental factors for the success of the championship, because of its technical and mass value, noting that the tournament is witnessing an accelerated development since its inception, in light of the commitment of the clubs participating in the highest professional standards.
