المملكة: “Media Organization” confirms the mandatory professional registration for the practice of media work

The General Authority for Media Regulation renewed its confirmation of the importance of professional registration for media professionals, as a binding procedure before any media profession. Noting in this regard that the approved regulations will be applied to everyone who practices the profession without prior registration, and to the media that use unregistered practitioners.
The authority confirms that within the framework of achieving an organized media environment, ensuring the rights of professionals, and limiting the impersonation of the media. It will begin to take regular measures against practitioners of unregistered media professions, in the context of the authority’s efforts to enhance governance in the media sector, upgrade its competencies, and fortify the public from negative and misleading media practices.
The authority calls on all practitioners to adhere to the profession performance controls. Noting that the violation of these controls may lead to a suspension or cancellation of the professional certificate, as it confirms in the same context, that the practice of media work after the expiration of the professional license without renewing it is an explicit violation that requires the imposition of the prescribed penalties.
