"Muslim sages" He strongly condemns the terrorist bombing in a church in Syria

Abu Dhabi, June 22 / WAM / The Council of Muslim Elders, headed by His Excellency the Grand Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar, condemned the strong terrorist bombing that targeted a church in the Syrian capital “Damascus”, and resulted in the killing of a number of innocent victims and the injury of others.

The Council affirmed, in a statement issued today, its categorical rejection of such terrorist acts that are completely incompatible with the tolerant teachings of Islam and all the heavenly laws, laws, international norms and human and moral values, which prohibit prejudice to the role of worship and calls for their protection, preservation and respect.

He stressed that targeting the role of worship is a blatant attack on the sanctity of souls and places, and a crime that cannot be justified under any name or pretext, again his fixed position rejecting all forms of violence and terrorism, and his demand for the necessity of confronting firmness to extremist groups that seek to spread destruction and ruin, destabilize security and stability and broadcast division and sedition among the people of the same homeland.

He offered sincere condolences to the families of the victims and their families, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured, calling on the Almighty to protect Syria and its people from all harm and bad.
