The Fifth Arab Forum for Cultural Heritage in Sharjah calls for empowering women and youth in preserving heritage

Sharjah, October 3 / WAM / The Fifth Arab Forum for Cultural Heritage in Sharjah, organized by the Ikrum Regional Center in Sharjah at the end of its work, recommended the importance of integrating heritage topics in the curricula at all stages and developing specialized professional training programs for youth and women in the fields of preservation, documentation and cultural entrepreneurship in addition to the fields of media and communication to enhance heritage discourse and communicate with the public.
The recommendations called for strengthening the deep societal awareness of heritage through the role of informal education, museums and libraries, and the launch of initiatives targeting children and youth to consolidate the link between generations and heritage values.
With regard to empowerment and comprehensiveness, recommendations demanded to ensure equal opportunities for women and youth in participation, leadership and decision -making and documenting the professional contributions of women in preserving heritage and integrating marginalized and displaced groups in heritage policies as heritage is a tool for peace and social cohesion while encouraging dialogue initiatives between generations and establishing youth platforms that allow participation and knowledge exchange.
The forum recommended the necessity of supporting youth and women’s initiatives by providing constituent grants and enhancing marketing and cultural innovation skills with the aim of transforming heritage into a sustainable economic source and encouraging fictional narration and creativity in the promotion strategies and emphasizing the role of the media and social media in the advocacy of heritage issues.
He also recommended the importance of involving youth and women in national and international activities to highlight identity and belonging and in the field of documentation and digital innovation called on the participants to create archives and unified regional electronic libraries and employ modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and spatial documentation according to accurate ethical standards and also stressed the importance of preparing periodic reports on the state of heritage and documenting emerging cultural initiatives and the need to combine youth experiences Technology experienced and knowledge of experts working in the field of heritage to enhance innovation and develop effective digital tools.
In terms of partnerships and future policies, recommendations called for the need to develop comprehensive cultural policies that enhance community participation and contribute to linking heritage issues to sustainable development goals. Recommendations included adopting sustainable financing mechanisms and setting up emergency plans that meet the needs of the Arab region in times of conflict and disasters.
The importance of strengthening Arab and regional cooperation, exchanging experiences, and opening up to establish partnerships with international organizations and the private sector, was emphasized with the need to estimate societal initiatives and support them financially to ensure their continuity.
As for the upcoming forums, the participants recommended the expansion of the involvement of universities and institutes, the establishment of an electronic archive of the forum and the production of content directed to young people such as “podcast”, organizing more deepening sessions to provide creative solutions and invite various sectors outside the field of heritage, including the private sector and capital owners to participate in forums, enrich discussions and support initiatives financially in addition to launching a special award With youth and women’s initiatives, it includes financial support to enhance its sustainability, which reflects the forum’s commitment to consolidating the role of heritage in the present and the future.
