The Minister of Irrigation stresses the importance of including the principles of governance in the national water resources plan
The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Dr. Hani Sweilem, stressed the importance of including the principles of governance in the national water resources plan by clarifying the roles of various institutions, developing executive plans for each party within the ministry that reflects its priorities and roles in implementing the plan, and reviewing the mechanisms of coordination between the various entities and mechanisms of follow -up, evaluation and implementation. With a number of ministry leaders, to follow up the position of developing and updating the national plan for water resources for the year 2050, which is the update being implemented within the framework of the Egyptian -Dutch cooperation through the joint cooperation program in applied research JCAR, where a draft of the executive plans was prepared with the knowledge of the various authorities. And the project to rehabilitate water installations and maintain gates, and take into account the effects of climate change that clearly affect the water sector in Egypt, through assessing the risk of climate change and including the plan and linking the indicators of the national plan for water resources and the national climate change strategy 2050.

stressed the importance of developing a follow -up system and evaluation to monitor the extent of achieving goals. The plan, through the evaluation of current projects and indicators of success, in conjunction with holding extensive meetings with the ministries and the relevant authorities to review and update those indicators so that they include indicators to measure adaptation procedures with climate change.
