The UAE and the World Health Organization concludes the first phase of the initiative to combat the malnutrition of women and children on the island

Sougryi, on July 14/ WAM/ Field work teams from the UAE and the World Health Organization concluded, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and Population in Yemen, the first phase related to comprehensive basic evaluation procedures within the joint initiative to combat the malnutrition of women and children on the island of Salaqra, which started in late May, and continues for a full year in four multiple stages.
The UAE is implementing this leading humanitarian initiative through the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works, one of the agencies affiliated with the Zayed Humanitarian Foundation, in partnership with the World Health Organization, and the first evaluation phase comes within a comprehensive health and nutrition program that extends from two to five years to come, with the aim of strengthening the health system by reducing the death rate associated with health and nutrition by 20%, where the evaluation included 38 regions in 29 districts in 29 districts Subsections on the island of Sakari.
Initial results showed that 93% of the targeted health facilities were erased in a way that exceeds the specified targets, as data were collected from 4,214 families, and the field teams conducted more than 930 interviews with health care providers, in addition to taking anthropological measurements of children and mothers, conducting 12 group discussion sessions focused with various groups and community segments, and holding 15 detailed interviews from various sectors Representative of the Yemeni local authorities, donors and the relevant agencies of the United Nations Organization, and the implementation of 546 interviews with the beneficiaries of this initiative to collect notes and limit them to the continuous improvement of the services provided.
The initial evaluation phase will follow the stage of reviewing, verifying and analyzing data and analyzing it in the context of preparing a final report on the current status of mother and child health and the state of nutrition on the island of Socotra in general, and a statement of the level of readiness and performance of health facilities to provide the necessary services and respond to emergency medical cases, which requires continuous planning based on evidence to determine the required intervention mechanisms, which helps to ensure the compatibility of activities The emergency response to the actual priorities and needs of the specific health facilities.
In addition, the stages coming from the implementation of this joint initiative between the UAE and the World Health Organization will include in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and Population in Yemen and a number of strategic partners, the purchase and distribution of medical and non -medical supplies, the implementation of a set of awareness -raising health activities in line with health priorities in the island of Saqqari on the one hand, and the creation of the sustainable impact to improve public health indicators between groups and populations that are most vulnerable on the other.
