المملكة: Organizational arrangements give 7 specializations for religious affairs in the Two Holy Mosques

After the Council of Ministers approved the organizational arrangements for the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, the organization specified 7 specializations and responsibilities for the authority, which are organizing the affairs of imams and muezzins in the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, and holding lessons, lectures, courses, and scientific seminars in the sciences of Sharia inside the Two Mosques.
In addition to issuing the necessary licenses for those who perform circumambulation inside the Grand Mosque, supervising the legal translation related to religious affairs, undertaking the work of religious advocacy, guidance and guidance in the Two Holy Mosques, and technical supervision of the affairs of the Holy Qur’an and its interpretations, as well as the affairs of libraries inside the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.

Organizing and managing religious services

A temporary committee was also formed to represent 6 government agencies, namely (a Chairman by order of the Prime Minister and a representative from each of: the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the Royal Commission for the City of Mecca and the Holy Sites, the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, and the General Authority for Welfare On the affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque).

The committee’s mission will be to follow up on the practice of presiding over religious affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque and the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, and work to address the difficulties and challenges, review the two draft regulations and introduce amendments and suggestions in preparation for submitting them by the Chairman of the Committee within a period not exceeding three months from the date of their referral to it for completion. The organization has identified the sources of the presidency’s financial resources, which consist of the appropriations allocated to it in the state’s general budget, and what the president accepts of bequests, revenues from endowments, and the like. The presidency will also open special accounts for the endowments that it manages, which it will supervise, and that will be independent of its accounts and with its own budget.
The Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque is one of the most prominent bodies concerned with organizing and managing religious services, and seeks to achieve the mission of the Two Holy Mosques in spreading Islam and promoting Islamic values. The Presidency supervises many administrative and organizational aspects that ensure the provision of the best services to visitors and worshipers.
