Russia revealed the secret of its intensive night raids on Ukraine, as the Kremlin announced on Friday that the intense Russian air raids on Ukraine during the night were in response to Kiev’s use of weapons obtained from Western countries.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov pointed to the Ukrainian strike on a Russian military airport in Taganrog the day before Wednesday as justification.

Russia-Ukraine war

The Ministry of Defense in Moscow wrote on Telegram saying that the Russian response was to launch a massive attack on the fuel and energy infrastructure in Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the nighttime bombing as “one of the largest attacks on our electricity grid” since the war began in February 2022.
On Friday, the Kremlin noted the statements of US President-elect Donald Trump, in which he announced his objection to Kiev’s use of US-made missiles against Russian territory.

Russia’s attacks on Ukraine

This came in the wake of a “huge” Russian air attack against Ukraine, and Moscow said that the “huge” attack it launched against Ukraine came in response to Kiev’s launch of American-made ATACMS missiles two days ago at a “military airport” in Taganrog in the southwest of the country.
Biden did not allow the use of such missiles against Russian territory until November, after it had opposed the matter for a long time, despite repeated requests from Kiev.
Trump confirmed that he “strongly opposes” this idea. He said that “only intensifies this war and makes it worse.”

Possible peace talks

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday that Trump’s latest statement was “fully consistent” with the Russian position.
Moscow and Kiev are seeking the support of the Republican president in light of possible peace talks that could begin next year.
This comes nearly three years after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which left tens of thousands dead on both sides.

Massive Russian attack

Russia launched a massive attack on Ukrainian power networks on Friday morning, causing a widespread power outage amid temperatures below zero.
The Russian Ministry of Defense explained by saying: “In response to the use of American long-range weapons, Russian army forces carried out a massive attack on vital energy facilities” in Ukraine.
