The UAE Experts Program empowers 86 experts in 5 years

ABU DHABI, 17 December / WAM / The UAE Experts Program continues to enrich various vital fields of national priorities and global trends, since its launch in 2019, in line with the ambitious vision of the UAE, based on the solid foundation of the late founder of the country, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul. “Towards optimal investment in the Emirati human being as an essential wealth that contributes positively to building society and developing humanity.
During 5 years of distinguished work, the Emirates Experts Program represented a major nucleus for achieving the country’s strategies and future plans, as the program enabled 86 Emirati experts to play leadership roles in all vital sectors of the country, in addition to active participation and multiple contributions in major global events and prominent events.
His Excellency Ahmed Talib Al Shamsi, Director of the Emirates Experts Program, stressed the program’s commitment to developing Emirati expertise, encouraging national innovations, and contributing positively to leading influential change in various sectors and in line with the UAE’s ambitions for the next fifty years, through establishing and nurturing a diverse and broad group of national competencies on the basis of… A global program that aims to enhance competitive capabilities in several vital areas, focusing on economic growth, social development, sustainability, and infrastructure.
The Emirati experts hold advanced degrees in various sciences and specializations, including 14 holding doctorates and 57 holding master’s degrees. They all have the experience, skills and abilities that are enhanced, refined and enriched by the Emirates Experts Program to become influential leaders in various future sectors by presenting innovative projects to confront several current challenges, especially In the sectors of sustainability, climate change, artificial intelligence, education, culture, diplomacy, food and agriculture.
For example, but not limited to, among the pioneering and innovative Emirati projects facing the challenges of the sustainability sector and climate change, the Emirati expert Abdullah Al Rumaithi developed the Emirati Environmental Identity Project, which aims to create a specific measurement rate for the environmental footprint of individuals at the state level, and the Emirati expert Azza Al Raisi developed the Emirati Environmental Identity Project. Managing electronic waste with the aim of reducing the resulting carbon footprint, in addition to the contribution of Emirati expert Maitha Al Hameli in the field of protecting biodiversity to studying marine mammals through the use of artificial intelligence algorithms. Emirati expert Noura Al Muhairi created a digital platform that connects consumers of environmentally friendly products with sustainable local farms in the country.
Six Emirati experts contributed effectively in the current year, “the Year of Sustainability,” to major national initiatives through the Sustainability Experts Network. A number of Emirati experts also participated in a leading and influential role in the Climate Conference of the Parties “COP27” in Egypt and “COP28” in the Emirates, through the launch of 7 National and global initiatives, issuing two reports and hosting them as keynote speakers in various climate conference sessions, in addition to their work as Emirati negotiators in global discussions on climate change at the conference. The COP29 parties, and their participation in policy dialogues in multiple areas related to the G7 and G20 summits.
The UAE Experts Program also issued 12 reports to explore the impact of artificial intelligence on vital sectors such as education, culture, the diplomatic corps, and food and agriculture. The program will continue to achieve its goals through a permanent network of communication and cooperation between the graduates of the previous three batches with the current experts in the fourth batch, to ensure the strengthening of many key initiatives in the field. Space, technology, intelligence, artificial intelligence and healthcare as national priorities towards building the future of strategic sectors.
